Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Scholarship recipient Kristalis Sotomayor just graduated with her Masters Degree in classical flute from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and she now has just created a fabulous Charanga band called...
Charanga is a sexy, heady musical style that's a sensuous mix of French "contradanza" married with Afro-Caribbean music and dance. What distinguishes charanga from pachanga music is that the two styles use different instrumentation, with the charanga replacing the more commonly used brass instruments that are used in Latin/ Caribbean music, with flutes and violins.
Along with Charanga, the musicians will play Salsa , Cha Cha Cha, and more!
Featured artists are from Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Cuba. This female dominant band is ready to serve a stellar performance and get you onto the dance floor!
